Ski area Rittner Horn

With the "Rittner Horn" lift pass, you can ski on 13 kilometres of pistes on Ritten's local mountain, the sun-kissed family mountain on the high plateau. The pistes are located at snow-sure altitudes of 1,538 m to 2,260 m and offer a magnificent panorama of the Dolomites and gentle, wide runs for pleasure skiers, families and sun worshippers. The modern 8-seater gondola lift takes you from the village of Pemmern up to the Schwarzseespitze at 2,070 m, then a drag lift takes you to the Rittner Horn. 90% of the pistes can be artificially snowed with a total of 10 snow cannons.

At the middle station of the cable car there is a versatile children's park with a magic carpet and more. The approx. 3 km long toboggan run, which leads to the valley station, also starts here. The many rustic mountain huts boast wonderful sun terraces and friendly innkeepers.

At the top of the Rittner Horn there is also a high-altitude trail for cross-country skiers and a premium hiking trail around the Rittner Horn. There is also a marvellous snowkite zone where the wind sometimes whistles over the mountain ridge! There is a descent for every taste and ability level in this ski area.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Après ski Renon

Renon prides itself on its seclusion, quiet and tranquillity. Those who do not want to miss out on après ski parties should visit the umbrella bar "Ziglu" nearby the valley station. Every know and then the bar hat parties with DJ music.

Other than that, Renon is a peaceful place. Ice skating in particular has a long tradition in resort. Locals are especially proud of their "Eisring", as it is supposed the fastest open-air ice rink worldwide. Fans of ice sports will find more opportunities, such as e.g. ice hockey in Renon Arena on 1,100 m or on the frozen lake Wolfsgruben. Curling also has a long tradition and is played in many places. Even tournaments and championships are held here.

There are many leisure time activities besides skiing that can be enjoyed in and around the Rittner Horn ski area. Hikers can enjoy a 360-degree-view of the surrounding peaks of the Dolomites on a premium hiking path. Snow shoe hikers will find great routes on sunny promenade and high altitude trails. Toboggan fans race down through the forest on the approx. 3 km toboggan run at Renon mountain and make a stop for a drink or snack at the local hut. In the evening, many traditional restaurants offer culinary experiences, such as Renon wine or "Kloatze", a sweet dish made from pears.

Snowpark: Snowpark Renon

The ski area at Rittner Horn offers a well-kept snowpark with obstacles for both beginners and more experienced freestylers. The park can be accessed at the middle station and is separated into a Freestyle Area and a Kids Area. The soon-to-be professionals can look forward to several rails, boxes and several kickers which are shaped in good snow conditions. Beginners and little freestylers will find a much easier parcours with wavy track nearby.
