Grand County Colorado is well-known for having some of the best cross-country trails in North America. The whole area comprises of five cross-country centres offering winter sports fans approx. 350 km of trails. "Devil’s Thumb" cross-country centre provides a total of 125 km of cross-country trails. Devil’s Thumb is located approx. 11 km north of Fraser behind Winter Park and offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains.
The "Snow Mountain Ranch" lies almost 13 km west of Winter Park and boasts 110 km of cross-country trails running through nature. In "Sol Vista Basin" visitors can use 40 km of cross-country trails. The "Grand Lake Touring Center" has breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountain national park and offers 35 km of prepared cross-country trails for both beginners and advanced skiers. The "Latigo Ranch" in the west of Grand County near Kremmling has 60 km of cross-country trails to offer.
