Ski area Via Lattea

A total of 400 kilometers of piste and 69 lifts are accessible with the lift pass "Via Lattea". Due to the great altitude (1,372 - 2,789 m) and the available snow-making systems, this resort is especially snow sure. All winter sports fans now profit from the countless improvements made to the infrastructure especially for the Winter Olympics in 2006. Sauze d'Oulx is currently one of the largest ski stations of the Via Lattea with a widespread ski area and ski lifts to Monte Moncrons. Beginners as well as pros have a lot of diversity on the piste. Snowboarders can compete in the half-pipes of the snow parks in Sestrière and Montgenèvre, as well as in the "Double Black Park" at the Rio Nero near Sauze d'Oulx with a quarter pipe, rails and kickers.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Snowpark: Snowparks Sauze d'Oulx (Via Lattea)

Freestyle fans are also catered for in the Via Lattea ski region. There are several snowparks, funparks and boardercross tracks in the different ski areas. The largest are in Sestiere, Sauze d'Oulx, Sansicario and Montgenèvre.

The Sestiere Snowpark opens up 300 m of freestyle possibilities with different levels of difficulty. For beginners, there is an extra area where they can safely make their first small jumps. The versatile offer consists of jumps of different sizes, boxes, rails, jib possibilities and slopestyle lines. In addition, the park has two lifts, which make it easy and comfortable for freestylers to enter the snowpark.

The "Double Black Park" in Sauze d'Oulx was built in 2006 for the Olympic Winter Games. The snowpark enjoys great popularity with jumps, kickers, rails and a quarterpipe, especially among snowboarders.

Even in the French Montgenèvre, snowboarders and freestylers don't leave empty-handed. The Montgenèvre Snowpark (2,455 m) can impress with a length of 500 m including boxes, kickers and two lines and is also suitable for beginners.
