Ski area San Martino di Castrozza

The steep mountain tops stand like a row of tin soldiers and form one of the most spectacular sceneries of the Dolomites. The 60 km of piste are connected by a free ski bus.

The lift pass "San Martino di Castrozza" includes the pistes at the Passo Rolle, the Col Verde and the ski union Ces-Alpe Tognola near San Martino. From extensive pistes for beginners (e.g. at the Passo Rolle) to the black piste "Direttissima" something can be found for everyone's taste. The lift area at the Col Verde convinces with its long sun shine hours and the entertaining run. Furthermore, there are valley runs that make their way from Punta Ces and Col Verde down into the resort. During the 2018/2019 winter season, the new Colbricon Express gondola will replace the two older chair lifts, providing for even more comfort in the ski area.

Snowboarders are in for a good time, too: there are snowparks with quarter pipes, boarder cross, tables, slides and jumps at the Alpe Tognola or the Rollepass. Even more fun in the snow can be had with the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass upgrade - offering 1,200 km of piste and 450 lifts.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

That doesn't mean that there's nothing happenings, however! Discos, piano bars as well as ale houses and wine bars ensure there is enough variety, right into the night. Favoured meeting places are the "Enoteca da Renzo" or "Lo Sfizio". You can indulge in delicious Trentino specialties like cheese, wine, mushroom dishes, fried sausage, polenta and naturally pizza in all forms and variations.
