Ski area Plan de Corones
Beginners, children and families will love "CroniExpress" with its 8-person gondola; here you will find a 100 m wide piste with a 160 m difference in altitude. The Plan de Coronoes is known as a very child friendly ski area with many attractions for the small ones. For instance, "Croniworld" can be found at the peak of Plan de Corones, where parents can watch their children's progress and at the same time enjoy a beautiful 360° panorama. In the ski area there are over 200 ski teachers that look forward to showing the best tricks in private or group courses.
The "Sylvester" and "Herrnegg" valley runs, however, challenge even experts and experienced alpinists! Two floodlit pistes are available for night skiing. Snowboarders can burn off steam on the half-pipe. No other ski area is so diverse and varied as Plan de Corones! The area is also known as host to various sports events, e.g. Snowboard World Cup, Biathalon World Championship or the international Valle di Casies run, the largest sporting event in South Tyrol.
For the last season, Plan de Corones has upgraded: The popular Sonnenlift has been replaced, completely renewed and equipped with many new features such as seat heaters or protective hoods. Free Wi-Fi is available in the Miara gondola, and the snowmaking systems have been improved. The 18/19 season also offers a new gondola in San Vigilio di Marebbe. The "Skitrans Bronta" is the shortest 12-seater gondola in the world and connects the valley stations of the "Miara" and "Pedagá" gondolas. The 6-person chair lift "Arndt" has also been renewed and now has ergonomic leather seats and a footrest lock.
For an even larger selection, you can upgrade to the lift pass "Dolomiti Superski" and choose from 1,200 kilometres of piste and 450 lifts.
At many lift pass sales locations in the "Plan de Corones" ski area, you have free-of-charge access to Wi-Fi hotspots. With an upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" ski pass, even more hotspots in mountain railway stations and in restaurants in the different ski areas are available.
Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy
To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.Night skiing Falzes
The ski area Plan de Corones has a large offer of possibility for fans of night skiing. The lifts with night time operation hours can be found in close proximity to Falzes.The approx. 1.7 km Korer piste in Riscone is especially recommendable. Here you can take your nightly turns on the piste every Saturday from 19:00 - 22:00. Tobogganing is also possible here, and equipment can be hired in resort.
In Terenten, night skiing is offered in from 19:00 - 21:30. The 1.3 km piste is illuminated every Wednesday and Friday.
In Taisten, it is the Guggenberg lift that is open for night skiing from 19:30 until 22:00 every Friday. Here, the piste is 1.5 km long and offers pure night skiing fun.
The Ciancross lift in San Vigilio di Marebbe gives you access to the approx. 700 m piste every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 20:00 - 22:00.

The largest and most modern ski area in South Tyrol, the "Plan de Corones" offers both fascinating panorama views, as well as perfect piste conditions and caters to all ambitious winter sports fans needs. Which options do the freestylers have, if they want to spend a great holiday here? This question is easily answered, as there are 2 great snow parks here which provide the right atmosphere for all fans of the scene!
Just below the "Belverde" mountain station is the "Easy Park" which lives up to it's name. On a length of 800 m and at an altitude of 2,230 m it offers an easy line which serves perfectly to being introduced correctly to the world of freestyling. Kickers, boxes, rails, a truck tyre and a straight industry pipe provide the right base for nice jumps.
The "Korer" on the same name piste is to be found close to the valley station of "Bruneck/Reischach" and provides loads of entertainment. This fun park is 300 m long and comprises various obstacles for newbies to tackle the challenge and learn how to become of the pros! Do you also want to be part of that?
