Ski area Pontedilegno Tonale

The "Pontedilegno Tonale" lift pass offers access to 100 kilometres of slopes (incl. 38 km of freeride slopes) and 28 lifts. The ski area is suitable for beginners and inexperienced skiers as well as for professionals and therefore appeals to a wide audience. Experienced skiers can carve down the 3 km Paradiso slope, which is considered the most difficult run in this ski area. The 1 km floodlit Valena slope, the 700 m snow park or numerous opportunities to prove yourself as a freerider make this ski area - in addition to its breathtaking view of the valley surrounded by white colossi - very varied. Another highlight is the 11 km long downhill run from the 3,000 m high Presena glacier to Ponte di Legno with a difference in altitude of almost 2,000 m, making it one of the longest downhill runs in Europe.

With the "Superskirama" upgrade, you have access to a total of 434 kilometres of slopes (incl. freeride slopes) and 146 lifts in the region. In addition to the "Pontedilegno Tonale" ski area, you will find varied slopes in Pejo, Folgarida-Marilleva, Pinzolo, Madonna di Campiglio and Monte Bondone, among others. There is something here for every winter sports enthusiast!

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Night skiing Passo del Tonale

Passo del Tonale is located between Val di Sole in Trentino and Valle Camonica in Lombardia and offers plenty of opportunities to conquer the slopes even after sunset. On several slopes, skiing enthusiasts can make their turns in the dark under the starry night sky. You can do this, for example, on the Pista Valbione near Ponte di Legno. Here, the lift extends its operating hours during the high season on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 20:30 to 23:00. The slope is about 1.2 km long and is accessed by a 4-seater chairlift. In addition to the Pista Valbione, the chairlift on the Valena slope in Passo del Tonale also works a late shift. Here, night owls have the opportunity to ski down the approximately one-kilometre-long piste every Tuesday and Thursday from 20:30 to 23:00.

Après ski Passo del Tonale

After a strenuous and energy-sapping day of skiing, the partly rustic mountain huts and bars in the surrounding villages invite you to linger. Over a glass of wine or a slice of pizza, you can look back on the day in a convivial atmosphere. If you also want a breathtaking panorama, the Sky Bar at 3,000 m above sea level is the place to be. For all those who would like to end a long day on the slopes on a sporty note, there is the possibility of proving oneself as a so-called musher on a sledge pulled by huskies in Ponte di Legno, 10 km away. For a romantic winter experience, go horseback riding or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow-covered mountain landscape. In Trentino, however, there are even more activities waiting for you off the slopes: at the Trentino Ski Sunrise, you have the opportunity to be one of the first to make your turns in the freshly prepared snow and enjoy the beautiful landscape at the same time. Or dare an adventure and try your hand at ice climbing. Accompanied by a guide, you will be equipped with crampons, ice axe and helmet and are guaranteed to experience real thrills!

Snowpark: Snowpark Passo del Tonale

The Snowpark Tonale is 700 m long and is located in the Pontedilegno Tonale ski area. This ultimate area with a ski cross slope, chill-out zone, experts' and beginners' areas is a dream for freestylers.

The Passo del Tonale Snowpark is separated into two sections. Here, beginners and pros will find more than 25 obstacles incl. a kicker, boxes and jibs. On the upper end, you have the more difficult and challenging jumps, further down there are smaller and lower obstacles for everyone to practise. At the practice slope, the "easy area", particularly simple obstacles can be found for the very first steps.

On top of the two parks, there is a 1 km ski and snowboard cross with waves and steep corners. A highlight that awaits all year round at the Presena Glacier: there is a snowpark at 3,000 m altitude which is open right up to the summer months - the perfect spot for everlasting freestyle fun.
