Ski area Plan de Corones

The ski area around Plan de Corones (2,275 m), South Tyrol's no. 1 ski mountain, offers more than just a little skiing fun with the lift pass "Plan de Corones". Thanks to the several snow-making systems, the area is snow-secure from December to April. 121 kilometres of piste and 31 modern lift systems between 973 - 2,275 m provide unforgettable ski enjoyment for big and small.

Beginners, children and families will love the Korer cable car with its 8-person gondola; here you will find a 100 m wide piste with a 160 m difference in altitude. The Plan de Coronoes is known as a very child friendly ski area with many attractions for the small ones. For instance, "Croniworld" can be found at the peak of Plan de Corones, where parents can watch their children's progress and at the same time enjoy a beautiful 360° panorama.

The "Sylvester" and "Herrnegg" valley runs, however, challenge even experts and experienced alpinists! Two floodlit pistes are available for night skiing. Snowboarders can burn off steam on the half-pipe. No other ski area is so diverse and varied as Plan de Corones! The area is also known as host to various sports events, e.g. Snowboard World Cup, Biathalon World Championship or the international Valle di Casies run, the largest sporting event in South Tyrol.

In order to guarantee the perfect skiing experience, the ski area is regularly upgraded: The ever-popular sun lift has been replaced, completely modernised and equipped with many new features such as heated seats and protective bonnets. Free Wi-Fi is available in the Miara cabins and the snowmaking systems have been improved. In the 19/20 season, the non-detachable Rara chairlift was replaced by the modern ‘Skitrans Bronta’. Since its construction, it has held the title of the shortest 12-seater gondola lift in the world and connects the valley stations of the ‘Miara’ and ‘Pedagá’ gondolas.

For an even larger selection, you can upgrade to the lift pass "Dolomiti Superski" and choose from 1,200 kilometres of piste and 450 lifts. At many lift pass sales locations in the "Plan de Corones" ski area, you have free-of-charge access to Wi-Fi hotspots. With an upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass, even more hotspots in mountain railway stations and in restaurants in the different ski areas are available.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

Night skiing Brunico

Night skiers are spoilt for choice. The longest and closest night skiing piste in the ski area is the Korer piste in Reischach. Every Saturday and Thursday from 19:30 to 22:00 you have the opportunity to ski down the piste under floodlights, except on 24/12/2024. The piste is around 1.7 km long and can also be used for tobogganing.

In Terenten you can ski on the piste at night. The 0.8 km long piste opens its lifts for you on Fridays from 19:00 to 22:00 after sunset.

Après ski Brunico

Après ski starts at the "longest bar of South Tyrol" in Brunico, at the valley station of the Plan de Corones lift. Also the Gigglealp or the K1 offer to drink to the km of pistes the skiers have mastered during the day. For those who are looking for more party, they will find many pubs and bars in Brunico which promise an enjoyable time.

Those who rather prefer a quiet and delightful evening will find various wine bars, restaurants or pizza parlours. Culture buffs can visit theatre plays, which have a long tradition here, or a variety of churches as well as the castle of Brunico.

For action-filled hours off the pistes, there are various activities on offer, as for instance ice-climbing, snow mobiling, taxi bob, snowshoe hiking, natural tobogganing as well as ice and broom hockey or curling on a natural ice rink.

In the pool complex "Cron 4" you can either paddle and slide or just relax and unwind in the associated sauna area. Horse-drawn carriage rides, moonlit and torchlit hikes, ski and snowboard races are organised regularly.

Snowpark: Snowpark Kronplatz Brunico

Fun and action are pre-programmed in the snow park located below the "Belvedere" mountain station. With an easy line, medium rail line, medium kicker line and a family fun line, the park offers unlimited fun for all levels.

The "Jib Park" on the Korer piste near the "Bruneck/Reischach" valley station offers another adventure. Various obstacles on 6,000 m² invite daring newcomers to take up the challenge and perhaps soon become real pros. There is also the "Kids Safety Park" and the "Playground Snow", where the right behaviour on the piste is practised in a fun way.
