Ski area Plan de Corones
Beginners, children and families will love the Korer cable car with its 8-person gondola; here you will find a 100 m wide piste with a 160 m difference in altitude. The Plan de Corones is known as a very child friendly ski area with many attractions for the small ones. For instance, "Croniworld" can be found at the peak of Plan de Corones, where parents can watch their children's progress and at the same time enjoy a beautiful 360° panorama.
The "Sylvester" and "Herrnegg" valley runs, however, challenge even experts and experienced alpinists! Two floodlit pistes are available for night skiing. Snowboarders can burn off steam on the half-pipe. No other ski area is so diverse and varied as Plan de Corones! The area is also known as host to various sports events, e.g. Snowboard World Cup, Biathalon World Championship or the international Valle di Casies run, the largest sporting event in South Tyrol.
In order to guarantee the perfect skiing experience, the ski area is regularly upgraded: the popular Sonnenlift was replaced, completely renewed and many new features like heated seats and protective covers were added. The Miara cabins now have free Wi-Fi and the artificial snow-making facilities were improved. In the 19/20 season, the non-detachable Rara chairlift was replaced by the modern "Skitrans Bronta". Since its construction, it has held the title of the shortest 12-seater gondola lift in the world and connects the valley stations of the "Miara" and "Pedagá" gondolas.
For an even greater choice of slopes, you can book an upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass and choose between 1,200 kilometers of slopes, 450 lifts and 18 snow parks! In the "Plan de Corones" ski area, you have access to free Wi-Fi hotspots at many lift pass sales points. If you choose the "Dolomiti Superski" lift pass upgrade, there are also many other hotspots available at cable car stations and restaurants in the various ski areas.
Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy
To ensure safety on the ski slopes in Italy, stricter safety regulations have been in force since 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.Night skiing Anterselva
Listen up, night skiing fans! The Korer piste in Riscone is an attractive place for your night skiing. With a length of 1.7 km, there is no limit to skiing fun at night time. Every Saturday and Tuesday from 19:30 to 22:00 you can ski on the floodlit piste. Tobogganing is also allowed on the Korer piste.In San Vigilio di Marebbe, you can also enter the pistes at night. The approx. 700 m Ciancross slope opens Tuesdays and Thursdays from 20:00 - 22:00 to an extra shift for skiing and tobogganing.
A further, approx. 1.3 km night skiing piste can be found in Terenten. On Fridays from 19:00 - 21:30 you can end your skiing day on the illuminated piste in the evening.
Last but not least, there is another night skiing piste in Taisten. With the Guggenberg/Taisten lift you can use the approx. 1.5 km piste every Friday from 19:30 - 22:00.
Après ski Anterselva
Anterselva also offers interesting alternatives during the day. It's possible to dare a racing run down the toboggan run on Lake Antholz or get to know a new side of the snowy landscape on a snowshoe hike. Ice skating fans are well provided for. Rest and relaxation can be found in the pools and saunas of the various hotels or at the pool complex "Erlebnisbad Cron4" near Riscone.
Snowpark: Snowpark Plan de Corones Anterselva
The largest and most modern ski area in South Tyrol, the "Plan de Corones" offer both fascinating panorama views, as well as perfect piste conditions and caters to all ambitious winter sports fans needs. Which options do the freestylers have, if they want to spend a great holiday here? This question is easily answered, as there are 2 great snow parks here which provide the right atmosphere for all fans of the scene.
Just below the "Belverde" mountain station is the "Easy Park" which lives up to it's name. On a length of 800 m and at an altitude of 2,230 m it offers an easy line which serves perfectly to be introduced correctly to the world of freestyling. Kickers, boxes, rails, a truck tyre and a straight industry pipe provide the right base for nice jumps.
The "Jib Park" on the "Korer" piste is to be found close to the valley station of "Bruneck/Reischach". This 6,000m² fun park comprises various obstacles for newbies to tackle the challenge and learn how to become of the pros! Do you also want to be part of that?
