Ski area InterSkiregion Fichtelberg/Klínovec

The "Skiregion Fichtelberg/Klínovec" lift pass, applies to all attractive ski areas on either side of the German-Czech border. The perimeter of the Fichtelberg (1,215 m) at Oberwiesenthal offers 16 kilometres of piste, while the neighbouring Keilberg in the Czech Republic provides another roughly 29 km. You can access the Fichtelberg from the Oberwiesenthal, either with Germany's oldest cablecar or by a modern 4-seater chairlift. By virtue of the predominantly easy to moderately difficult descents the Fichtelberg particularly caters to families. The family-run at 2 km of length, as well as the the 1,8 km long tobogan run are highly recommended. Furthermore, there is a practice area with a magic carpet, as well as a skiing kindergarten for the little ones. Advanced skiers nonetheless, also get their money's worth. The 1,2 km long FIS-run underneath the cableway, as well as the 600 m long piste, "Am Wäldchen" , are among the most challenging FIS-runs in the eastern part of Germany.

The roughly 5 km distanced ski area Klínovec, attracts visitors with a wide range of pistes, totalling up to 18 km all around the Keilberg, the highest mountain in the Ore Mountains. Most of the slopes here can be ranked as moderately difficult. The forest runs on the north-eastern side of the mountain are particularly popular.

Night skiing Loucna pod Klinovcem

Small, but nice - what's valid for the resort Loucna pod Klinovcem is also true for the nearby ski areas. Connected to the ski region Fichtelberg/Klínovec, the two small night ski areas at the Czech-German border offer the opportunity to stay on the the illuminated piste for longer than usual. On the Czech side, night skiing is possible in the ski areas Skiareal Klínovec which are only a stone's throw away. On the German side, the nearby ski area at Fichtelberg also offers night skiing. Thanks to the short distance between the ski areas it makes sense to switch pistes every once in a while, so that boredom never occurs when skiing until night time.

The small Loucna offers a wide selection of culinary establishments, to help bring the evening to a comfortable close with good food. Indulge your palates with the characteristic, local potato dishes and enjoy the Czech hospitality.
