Ski holidays Černý Důl – cosy winter paradise in the Giant Mountains!
Černý Důl
The romantic area of Černý Důl lies at the southern foot of the Giant Mountains at an altitude of 684 m. The name of the Czech village translates to "black mine," referring back to their history as a mine settlement, as well as the lush forestry in the surrounding area. In the 18th century, everything here revolved around limestone mining, but the focus today is on a different sort of white splendour. Mother nature makes sure to provide a rich amount of snow along with a yearly average tempurature of 7°C - the perfect conditions for a white winter wonderland from December to March. The quiet little village has been moulded into a popular winter sport destination, whereby its romantic traditions and serenity have been wonderfully preserved.Giant Mountains
The Giant Mountains form the largest part of the Sudetes, which lie between Poland and the Czech Republic. The Sněžka (Snow Top) is the highest peak of the Sudetes and therefore also the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, with an altitude of 1,600 m. Typical for the region are the jagged stone rims and mountain lakes. Near the peak of Mount Medvědín you can find the source of the River Elbe. The winter sports resorts in the Giant Mountain National Park offer everything necessary for a successful skiing holiday. Here you will find well prepared pistes, modern lift systems, endless cross-country ski tracks on beautiful high plateaus and a variety of leisure time and aprés ski facilities, which don't have to hide their faces from their Austrian counterparts!Travel Černý Důl
