Zuoz (St. Moritz)

Thanks to it's beautiful resort centre with some impressive patrician town-houses, Zuoz is also often referred to as the prettiest village in the Engadin. Additionally, it is also one of the best-preserved. The village square and the typical Engadin houses with their mansards and Sgraffito-decorations, make for a very special character. This is authentic, local lifestyle. Even the Romanic language has survived here. However, Zuoz is not only a pretty resort with a special atmosphere, it also has a large selection of activities to offer. The village and the local, family-friendly ski area belong to the huge winter sports region of Engadin St. Moritz - the largest in Switzerland - which offers a total of 350 km of piste, as well as numerous cross-country and winter hiking trails.

Engadin

The sun-spoilt Engadin Upper Valley lies in the Graubünden canton. The region is separated into Upper Engadine and Lower Engadine, Upper Engadine being really impressive with its gorgeous landscape filled with lakes, forests and breathtaking glaciers. "Piz Bernina" is the only 4,000 m mountain in the eastern Alps. It is very impressive and, along with the majestic Morteratsch glacier, is located in Engadin. The region is not just the fount of "white winter holidays", but also the River Inn. The upper valley astonishes constantly with contrasts, which really distinguishes the famous resort of St. Moritz. St. Moritz is an annual destination for high society. In addition to modern and luxurious architecture, one can find many rustic farms and old Romanesque churches in the rest of Engadin.
