Ski holidays Murg - winter sports and enjoying the nature in Murg Valley!
Murg
Sunny Murg is situated at the southern shore of lake Walensee, against the beuaitful backdrop of the Swiss mountain scenery. Lake Walensee and Murg, nestled against the mountain slope, are surrounded by thick forest of Swiss stone pines which offers attractive hiking trails and beautiful observation points. Three lakes can be found in wildly romantic Murg Valley, which is crossed by Murgbach stream. In this part of Heidiland, nature offers fascinating sceneries: For example, you can find the rare Spanish chestnut here. Near the resort centre of Murg you can also find the Murgbach ravine with a waterfall that's really worth a visit. An artfully designed village square in the centre impresses with its water feature and Murg's landmarks, the Spanish chestnut and Verrucano stones which are typical for the region. Fans of winter sports can look forward to various options of mountain sports at nearby Flumserberg, such as skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, winter hiking and cross-country skiing.Heidiland
The Canton St. Gallen is situated in between Walensee and Rebbergen and stretches all the way to the holiday region Heidiland. As the name suggests, the region lives of the myth of the children's book character because it is Heidi's homeland and visitors can trace her steps here. But Heidiland is also a well-known spa destination and outdoor paradise. All throughout the year does this alpine region offer plenty of opportunities to get active in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the landscape, glaciers and lakes. Two ski areas, Pizol and Flumserberg, are at your disposal during winter.Travel Murg
