Cross-country skiers will also find their favourite spot in Grindelwald: there are almost 19.5 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails available for them in the classic or skating style. The longest trail, which stretches over 7.5 km, is a circular route starting from Grund via Mettenberg. In addition, it is possible to explore the floodlit trail at Gletscherschlucht (1 km, at an altitude of 1,000 m). There are user fees for the use of the cross-country trails.
In the nearby Lauterbrunnen Valley there are a further 12 km of cross-country ski trails, including 8 km of skating trails (extra charge).
