Ski holidays Ruhpolding - A Mecca for fans of cross-country skiing!
Ruhpolding
Ruhpolding with its approx. 6,500 inhabitants is a cosy village in Upper Bavaria. It is an Eldorado for all nature lovers, because every season has its own special charm. In winter the region offers wonderful ski runs and varied cross-country skiing routes as well as an attractive range of leisure activities. The "cross-country skiing Mecca" Ruhpolding has approx. 160 km of cross-country trails and the "Chiemgau-Arena" is the annual venue of the Biathlon World Cup. Here you will also find a ski jumping hill and you can be a biathlete yourself for a few hours at Fritz Fischer's "BiathlonCamp" and try out the special combination of shooting and cross-country skiing. At Unternberg and Westernberg the ski slopes for all floodlight fans are also illuminated. An approx. 50 km large network of cleared hiking trails or a sleigh ride also offer a good change.Chiemgau
The Chiemgau region is a mostly rural area with a well worth seeing cultural landscape that is rich in tradition. In the South, where the Chiemgau Alps rise up to 1,961 m with the Sonntagshorn, a wonderful mountain world is to be explored! Beautiful mountain lakes, several alp and mountain guest houses, fairy parks and waterparks make this region a favourite for young and old. This vivid tradition makes for a typically Upper Bavarian holiday experience. In winter, the Chiemgau Alps are transformed into a snowy dream landscape for skiers, tobogganers and ice-skaters. Sporting events like the biathlon also attract many visitors to the region during the winter season.Travel Ruhpolding
