Ski holidays Oberharmersbach – authentic climatic health resort in the Black Forest Nature Park!

Oberharmersbach

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Black Forest Nature Park lies the tranquil Oberharmersbach in a side valley of the Kinzig. The holiday resort is a much-visited recreational area with idyllic surroundings in both summer and winter. Traditional buildings such as thatched Black Forest farmhouses, farm gardens and magnificent churches characterise the village and Black Forest customs are lived out here with festivals and traditions. Not far from the village centre rises the natural monument Brandenkopf (945 m), the highest elevation in the central Black Forest area and a great excursion spot for winter hikers. There is a 30-metre-high observation tower on the summit, which offers a sweeping view over the Rhine Valley. For day trips, Offenburg and Freudenstadt are only a stone's throw away, with Freiburg 60 km away and Alsace not far, either. The closest ski area to Freudenstadt is on the Kniebis, where Alpine skiers and tobogganers get their money's worth.

Black Forest

Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest cherry cake), Cuckoo clocks and the "Bollenhut" (traditional women's hat) - all this is typical for the Black Forest region and enjoys world-wide recognition. 160 km long and approx. 60 km wide is the expanse of this central German mountain range, covering 11,400 m² in close proximity to Switzerland and France. The Black Forest, with its more than 70 peaks over 1,000 m altitude, is the highest of the German central mountain ranges. Sporty Alpine skiers, expectant cross-country goers, loves of good wine and cuisine and all those looking for some relaxation and pampering, are welcome to experience the benefits of the Black Forest.
