Lohberg

The spa and winter sports resort Lohberg is located in the nature park Oberer Bayerischer Wald, at the foot of the Osser and Arber mountains. With approx. 2,000 inhabitants the resort is the most eastern village in the Upper Pfalz. Due its diverse offer of trails, the area is known to be a true cross-country skiing paradise. But not only active winter sports possibilities are to be found here, you will also find more relaxing options available. Besides other things, there are winter hikes, snowshoe tours, natural toboggan runs and horse-drawn sleigh rides on offer. Bavarian Forest

The Bavarian Forest is central Europe's largest forest with 6,000 km² of wooded area. In 1970 the national park Bavarian Forest was created which, together with the Bohemian Forest, forms the largest coherent forestal nature reserve in central Europe with a total span of 900 km². Besides of the Alpine region, this region is also known for its affinity to winter sports. Families in particular will find exactly what they are looking for here. Those who prefer not to explore the Bavarian Forest on skis can also go on a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride.
