Ski holidays Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Top of Germany!

Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Garmisch-Partenkirchen lies at an altitude of approx. 707 m at the edge of the Wetterstein mountain range, at the foot of the impressive panorama of Zugspitze (2,962 m), Germany's highest peak. Garmisch-Partenkirchen has approx. 26,000 inhabitants. Even today there is still a special kind of atmosphere in this resort, which was the site of the 1936 Winter Olympic Games. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is also Germany's most significant winter sports location and has one of the best therapeutic climates. No matter whether you are looking for rest and relaxation or sports and fun, here you will find everything you seek. The historic street "Ludwigstraße" invites you to shop, stop in and savour its elegant stores, the quaint, often traditional shops, various restaurants, and cosy huts. You shouldn't miss the big yearly sporting events such as the Four Hills Tournament ski jumping competition or the world cup downhill event!

Zugspitze

New Year's jumping, Kandahar run and international flair - all this can be experienced round about the Zugspitze! Additionally regional highlights, e.g. the impressive Zugspitze itself or the Partnachklamm, add to the area's charm. The region offers 10 different ski areas in 2 countries all around the Zugspitze. The Zugspitzplatt is very snow sure, where you will find numerous runs just below the Zugspitze. When riding with the Eibsee-lift, which takes you up to approx. 2,950 m, right below the highest point of Germany, you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama. For après ski cosy ski huts, bars, pubs, clubs and discos offer fantastic meeting and party points or you can enjoy a toboggan ride or relax with many other leisure time activities offered in this holiday region.
