Ski area Freudenstadt-Kniebis
On the southern rim of Freudenstadt lies the Stockinger lift, a t-bar lift which runs up to 800 m altitude to ski a manageable area. From the top of the lift, there are mainly blue and black pistes accessible. Although the pistes only cover an entire length of approx. 1 km, the slopes are geared to beginners and pros alike.
The largest ski area in the Black Forest can be found on the Feldberg, where the lifts enable access to a total of approx. 26 km of pistes.
Night skiing Freudenstadt
Winter sports enthusiasts spending their holidays in Freudenstadt can enjoy night skiing right nearby. Night-owls can indulge in night skiing in the small and nice night ski area Vogelskopf. It is approx. 24 km from Freudenstadt, a little away from the Schwarzwald-Hochstraße route, and is well suited for experienced skiers due to its steeper incline. The piste and tow lift are only open on weekends and holidays - but when they are, they're open until late in the evening. On Saturdays during school break and on public holidays the lifts even operate from 09:00 in the morning until 22:00. The floodlight is turned on at dusk, so that the approx. 1 km piste is illuminated on its full length. The Einsteiger piste has a length of approx. 600 m and leads down to the valley station. The forest piste that's also known as "Autobahn" (motorway) is a little longer - 850 m - and has an intermediate level of difficulty. The Vogelkopf hut invites you to take a break or end your day on ski with food and drink.Après ski Freudenstadt
In the evenings, you can enjoy some great, hearty, local cuisine. In the city centre the brewery Turmbräu is worth a visit. It is located directly at the market square and provides for a cosy, traditional atmosphere inside, while outside you can enjoy the pretty Biergarten, called Turm-Alm. Party evenings take place here regularly. Local specialities, such as the Black Forest deer sausages, "Maultaschen" filled with locally hunted game, or a Buhlbacher trout fillet are served everywhere, even on the Kniebis hut in the ski area.
Snowpark: snowpark_name Freudenstadt
In the small ski areas in the northern Black Forest, such as Kniebis, there is no snowpark. Unfortunately the "badenova Snowpark" at Feldberg will be closed from the coming winter season 18/19. Nonetheless, Feldberg still inspires with 4 new funslopes for young and old. With rapid steep turns, swinging wave tracks, but also with several smaller jumps, the various fun slopes provide a lot of fun.
The Kandelpark in Waldkirch is also looking forward to many new visitors. The varied set-up consisting of various boxes, rails and several kickers is something to be proud of.
