Ski holidays Valloire - heart of the three-valley connection!

Valloire

Valloire is located right in between the 2 mountain passes Col du Galibier and Col du Télégraphe in the Savoyard Alps. The picturesque village is dominated by old, stone buildings, and right in between those runs the Valloirette stream - providing the village with a very unique mountain village charm. But this place is so much more than only a place of French Alpine tradition. Leisure time activities, such as ice skating and paragliding, but also more extraordinary sports, e.g. speedriding on skis or a tandem jump from a propeller jet on skates can be tried here.

The resort organises an attractive winter season programme for all it's visitors every year. The New Year's Eve event "SnowBall" on the main street and the "Big Air Festival" with DJ and mulled wine stands are only two of a number of cultural events that take place here.

Valmeinier-Valloire

In the sun-drenched Maurienne Valley lies the region of Valmeinier-Valloire, where the sprawling ski area is often labelled as the small version of Trois Vallées. And in fact, the foundation stone for the 3 Valleys should have been placed originally in Valmeinier. However, the residents there in 1946 spoke out against this because they felt there would be too much commotion, so it was set slightly to the north in Courchevel. Valmeinier was developed in 1986 with the creation of a 3-valley ski area, whose magnificent pistes, wide mountainsides and deep valleys don't fall short of those in Trois Vallées!
