Ski area La Forêt Blanche

With the "La Forêt Blanche" lift pass, winter sports enthusiasts have access to the 185 kilometres of pistes in the La Forêt Blanche ski area, which is located in the middle of the French Alps and springs from the two towns of Risoul and Vars. Surrounded by the peaks of the Ecrin Massif National Park, the Ubaye Valley and the Queyras Nature Park, the ski area runs along larch forests and impressive mountain panoramas and offers an excellent skiing experience for young and old. With 75 kilometres of green and blue, 90 kilometres of red and 20 kilometres of black pistes, the ski area is particularly suitable for families and beginners. The sections around Mont Mayt offer ideal conditions for making your first turns on the slopes. For advanced skiers, on the other hand, the sky is the limit. They benefit from slopes at altitudes of 1,660 m to 2,750 m. The descents from the Pic de Chabrieres (2,746 m) or Col de Crevoux (2,530 m) are particularly popular, which experts and professionals can conquer in carving style or with short turns. Speed lovers can look forward to the high-speed track "Les Vautours" with a gradient of up to 98% and a speed record of 255.5 km/h, while freestylers can let off steam in the total of seven snow parks. The youngest among the winter sports enthusiasts get the perfect introduction to skiing and snowboarding in fascinating children's landscapes. Modern lifts take winter sports enthusiasts to the daily groomed and sun-kissed slopes, which offer optimal snow conditions thanks to the dry climate.

Après ski Risoul

After the slopes means before the numerous off-piste activities. Restaurants and cafés invite you to spend a cosy evening, while rustic huts along the pistes provide the necessary refreshments during the skiing day. Whether on the slopes or in the valley: raclette, fondue and selected wines provide unique taste experiences with sometimes impressive views.

Winter holidaymakers who like it a bit more peppy are welcomed by selected bars and après-ski clubs, while those seeking peace and quiet can relax in sauna facilities and with massages. Risoul also has two natural toboggan runs and the Luge Dévale toboggan run, where piste racers whizz down the mountain on rails. These provide a good dose of fun for the whole family. Dog sledding, ice skating and winter hiking are just three other activities that make the off-piste programme in Risoul a unique winter experience.

Snowpark: Waouland Risoul

The Waouland Snowpark in Risoul was one of the first of its kind in France, making it a pioneer in this field. Since 2016 in particular, a lot of time and work has been invested to ensure that it can once again play in the big leagues. The snowpark offers around 30 obstacles for every level - including various rails and boxes as well as the most popular obstacle - the whale. However, it's not just adrenaline that's guaranteed here, but also a good atmosphere and culinary variety. There is a barbecue in the chill zone every day where you can prepare your own barbecue and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere (see information on site).
