Ski area Grand Massif

The Grand Massif connects five ski resorts and therefore makes it one of the largest ski areas in France. 265 kilometres of piste at altitudes between 697 and 2,480 m leave no wishes unfulfilled. A total of 67 lift systems transport you easily up the mountains. From Morillon you can access the ski area directly via two chair lifts. Generally the piste difficulty increases with the altitude, but also beginners can explore the upper area on a few red and blue pistes.

For beginners there piste "Les Cascades" is a real highlight: it stretches over 14 km down from Flaine to Sixt Fer á Cheval and therefore offers a magnificent view of the Mont Blanc. If you are lucky you can spy some ice climbers working their up the frozen waterfalls.

Pros can burn off steam on the pistes at the Lac de Gers, at Grandes Platières and the Tête Pelouse. A real freeride paradise is the Combe de Gers, a 2.5 km long deep powder snow run, descending over 800 m difference in altitude. Freestylers however can run riot in various snow parks, spead over the area.

Even the smallest ones can enjoy themselves: in close proximity to the resort there is not only ample practise area, but also the "Kidz Park" with whoops and banks for trying out some first freestyle tricks. Also there is the Marvel Safari: a forest descent with info boards along the way to explain the local flora and fauna. A ski kindergarten ensures that the little ones are taken care of properly.61

Après ski Morillon

In Morillon enjoying the local cuisine is more important that indulging in lively apres ski. Let the evenings come to a cosy end in one of the many restaurants offering Savoyard specialities, e.g. various types of cheese or a Tartiflette. The "Madison Pub" or the "Bar Le Bon Coin" are perfect for picking up a small digestive on the way home.

However that is not the end to the local leisure time offers. The tourism office provides an entertaining activity programme which offers shows and sledge races, right up to concerts in the resort. The wonderful mountain surroundings further provides lots of opportunities for going on snowshoe hikes. Attractive routes take you along the banks of the Giffre, for example. A bit more action can be found with ski-joring, whereby you stand on skis and pulled along by horse. Or you maybe a go on dog-sledging? Morillon further offers 2 toboggan runs and an ice rink. And should the weather turn down all outdoor activities, there is still the indoor pool you can visit.

Snowpark: Snowpark HO5 Park Morillon

The ski area "Grand Massif" comprises various funparks. One of the most popular ones is the HO5Park at the Calcédoine piste in Flaine. Here freestylers have the choice between kickers, rails, and boxes with varying levels of difficulty. The unique trail "Ze Forest" with its banked curves and banks leads through the forest.
