La-Salle-Les-Alpes (Serre Chevalier)

The resort stretches over both sides of the Guisane and is presents itself beautifully with the traditional stone houses, which are typical for this region. The centre of La-Salle-les-Alpes is the ski station Villeneueve, which gives you direct access to the ski area of Serre Chevalier. The pistes end directly in the centre of the resort and therefore provide doorstep skiing for lots of visitors. Although the resort has maintained it's village character with the small alleys and street markets, the centre is the lively hotspot of the area. The main road is the Rue de la Guisane with the Place de l'Avaret. Here is the centre of night life with all the bars, cafés and restaurants. However there are also some quaint and traditional shops to be found here, which invite to stroll.

Serre Chevalier Vallée

Located at the foot of the homonymous mountain with its2,491 m high peak, lies Serre Chevalier. The valley, which is also the natural bed of the Guisane river, comprises 13 villages in the typical regional design with stone houses, medieval buildings and romantic churches. Cosy village atmosphere mingles with the liveliness of a modern ski resort. Serre Chevalier belongs to the larger ski resorts in Europe with its 250 km of piste. Besides the standard prepared pistes the are also offers lots of diversity with picturesque valley runs through lark forests and exciting mogul runs. Especially pros can burn off steam on the steep slopes just below the mountain peaks, and get into carving mode on the long valley descents and deep powder snow areas. Four snow parks attract freestylers into the national park Les Ecrins. However there is still enough space for beginners to get going here, as well.
