Ski holidays Flaine - multi-faceted skiing!
Flaine
The traffic-free winter sports resort Flaine lies at approx. 1,600 m in the Haute Savoie, around 70 km south-east of Geneva. The resort was conceptualised in the 60s by architect Marcel Breuer, and was meant to be integrated into the surrounding mountain landscape, so that the Nature stayed undamaged. The result is three stations at various heights, which are joined by footpaths, lifts and a shuttle service. The village offers direct access to Flaine's ski area, which boasts more than 140 km of fun on the pistes. Flaine also has a lot more to offer - action lovers can let loose in a car or go-kart on the ice course, or explore the mountain world at a bird's eye view whilst paragliding or during a helicopter flight.Grand Massif
The ski region Grand Massif, located in midst of the Upper Savoyards, characterises itself by sheer endless diversity. Surrounded by a wonderful mountain landscape, dominated by the Mont-Blanc mountain range in the south, history meets modern age in a very unique way. Be it quiet and traditional, over centuries developed villages or just a basic station - the region offers incomparable contrast. Beginners just as experts will find what they are looking for here. The selection of easy and intermediate pistes is huge and very impressive. But also away from the slopes the region has much to offer. The wonderful mountain landscape can therefore also be explored on numerous cross-country trails or panoramic hiking trails, whilst quaint huts and restaurants invite you in to try their specialities.Travel Flaine
