Ski area Bansko

The "Bansko Ski Area" is one of the most famous and modern winter sports centres in Eastern Europe. The area combines 16 ski lifts and diverse pistes with a total length of 48 km, and goes up to an altitude of 2,560 m.

The ski area is divided into three stations, which are connected by the pistes. The "Shiligarnika" station can be comfortably reached from the peak over gentle runs. From there, winter sports enthusiasts can take the 3- or 4-person chair lift up to the peak again or the ski route to the "Chalin valog" middle station. The third station, "Bunderishka polyana" can be reached by the "Shiligarnika" station over a long valley run. The valley run is approx. 7.5 km long and will be lit once per week for night skiing.

Thanks to the high snow fall rate and the numerous snow canons the Bansko ski area is snow sure. For variety, take advantage of the natural jumps and free-riding opportunities below the Todorka Peak. Pro skiers will love the black piste called Alberto Tomba.

One of the longest slopes worldwide is a very special highlight: from the highest point in the ski area at 1,750 m, the slope leads down 16 km all the way into the valley without interruption.

As the local beer price is around €1.50, the small inns enjoy great popularity among tourists. The highlight among restaurants is the Hadjirouskova Kaschta, where the publican sings folk songs in the evening. If you'd rather head to the discos and clubs, don't miss the "Amnesia Disco Club". The disco ''Happy End'' stands just at the valley station when you ski from the peak to the valley, where you can let your day turn to night with great music.

For action-seeking holiday makers, winter hikes and snowshoe hikes are available, as well as night skiing on the valley piste. The famous light railway runs various times daily and is very popular.
