Ski area Glungezer
Conditioned skiers can try their hand at the Schartenkogel valley run Tulfes, which is one of the longest runs in Tyrol at 15 km. Experts have the opportunity to try the 9 km long FIS downhill run with a difference in altitude of 1,500 m and freestyle fans can let off steam in the fun parks on the Schartenkogel.
Night skiing Thaur
If you want to experience Austrian nights in a very special away, you should visit the approx. 30 km distant Oberperfuss ski area at Rangger Köpfl in order to go night skiing. The night ski area offers a 2.5 km long illuminated piste, whose peak can be reached by an 8-person gondola. In good snow conditions, night skiing is possible every Tuesday and Friday from 18:30 to approx. 22:30. If you have had enough of night skiing you can relax and watch the stars in cosy mountain huts.Après ski Thaur
Those looking for more variety are guaranteed to find it in nearby Innsbruck, with its many shops, boutiques, cafes and museums. Night owls will get their money's worth here. Whoever is attracted more to the winter sports enjoyment can use his winter menu through the hiking path, the ice sports stadium and the many tobogganing runs..
A highlight for adrenaline seekers is the ride in the guest bob through the Olympic bob run. Those you would like to enjoy traditional winter sports should not miss the "Klumperspaß". You race down the piste with a type of solid-hoofed toboggan, called "The Klumper". Dare the descent!
Snowpark: Jib-Park Thaur
The ski region "Olympia World Innsbruck" and especially the ski areas "Glungezer" and "Rangger Köpfl" are not only great due to their spectacular descents. There are many possibilities for freestyle fans and everyone from beginner to pro will experience an unforgettable experience at a high altitude.
Not only families but also freestylers get their money's worth at Glungezer: Since winter 2011/12 there is a so called "Jib-Park": Adrenalin junkies expect various obstacles that change their course several times during the season. By changing places, new combinations are created again and again, which fit perfectly into the given terrain. The pros, on the other hand, gather at the pro line of the same name. Variety makes it possible for ambitious freestylers as well as those who still want to become one with 5 - 6 m down pipelines, 12 m kinked elbow, 7 m jib tank to use the snow park. At the Glungezer Jib Fest in April, daring freestylers of all ages can prove their skills and Co. will be convinced to compete with others.
All those who don't have phenomenally high expectations regarding the park's set up, will surely be fully satisfied with the Snowpark Oberperfuss. A manageable amount of kickers, rails, slides, and boxes offers enough variety for a quick detour and perfectly completes the offers of both areas.
