Ski holidays Steinach am Brenner - centrally located in the Wipp Valley!

Steinach am Brenner

Located approx. 20 south of Innsbruck, lies the resort Steinach am Brenner, situated in the Tyrolean Wipp Valley. The famous Brenner road leads through the resort centre, and the Brenner train also stops in Steinach, which means that the resort is easily accessible. Thanks to its ideal location, Steinach turns out as the most central point in the Wipp Valley.

Eye-catcher and also the oldest building in the village centre, is the baroque church St. Erasmus, displaying a double-turret facade and a new-age Romanic entrance hall. This piece of architecture does not only fascinate the culturally interested. Villas from the past century and the court building, which formerly was Emperor Maximilian's hunting seat, are also worth visiting.

Besides culture and architecture, winter sports is a major attraction of the region. The ski area Bergeralm lies practically in front of the door and it is also known as one of the largest toboggan and night skiing area in Europe, thanks to a large number of floodlight installations.

Wipp Valley

The Wipp Valley lies in the heart of Tyrol and stretches from Innsbruck to the famous Brenner pass - hence, right down, close to South Tyrol. The valley offers a great number of idyllic side valleys and is a great recreational destination for many Innsbruck inhabitants. This has also leaked through to the tourists and so the area has become a popular holiday destination - both in summer and winter. The landscape, with it's impressive peaks along the main Alpine ridge is a true sporting paradise - for hikers, mountain bikers and of course for skiers. The closeness to the Innsbruck region is an extra benefit.
