Ski area Grosseck-Speiereck
Directly in St. Michael, there is the new 8-person gondola, which easily accesses the ski area Großeck/Speiereck, offering a total of 50 km of diverse pistes and 10 lifts. Enjoy the ride back to the valley station from Speiereck to St. Michael on a total length of 4.5 km and covering a difference in altitude of 1,300 m. The ski area is therefore well suited for both beginner and families with children, as well as for more experienced skiers. The most beautiful runs are to be found just below the Speiereck. Children can burn off steam in the "Smarty Kinderland" with statures, igloo, witch hut and teepee tent, or they can explore the ski area on the the "Hexenwald-Kindererlebnis-Skiweg" (special children's fairly tale ski piste). The evenly spaced snow canons guarantee great conditions right through until spring.
The ski area Katschberg-Aineck, with its total of 70 piste-kilometres, also offers some diverse and challenging descents. This area, with its local mascot " Karschi" and the children's area with especially child-friendly pistes, is ideal for families. However, the black run "Direttissima" stoops down in a 100% gradient and is know to be one of the most difficult in the Alps.
Another ideal family ski area is the Fanningberg. Apart from one small, challenging part at the Zirbenjet, all the pistes are wonderfully wide and fairly flat - perfect for beginners and children. Further, there is a great carving slope and in the "FANNI-Kinderpark" the little ones are kept entertained.
At the practice lift, winter sports fans regularly have the chance to experience an illuminated piste in the evening hours (and test their night-skiing skills).

Going down the pistes under the starlit sky and having a hot drink in the mountain hut at a late hour in order to end the day - none of this is a problem here. Snowpark: St. Margarethen St. Michael im Lungau
In the Katschberg-Aineck ski area, there is a small but fun snowpark, which is great for both beginners and experts of freestyling. Various obstacles, such as rails, boxes, a corner and even a small half-pipe await you here.
