Ski area Brunnalm

With the lift pass "SkiHit" you have access to all East Tyrol ski areas, such as the Mölltal Glacier and Ankogel (see ski region). The total of 186 km of pistes incl. ski routes in the Grossglockner Resort Kals-Matrei, Brunnalm, Lienzer Dolomiten, Silian, Obertiliach, and Kartitsch have something in store for every skill level.

The ski area Brunnalm, which is easily accessible from St. Jakob, has a lot to offer with its 17 km of piste. No matter whether, as a beginner, you would like to show off your skills by taking one of the two long descents into the valley, or would rather use the athletic descent from the mountain station 3 person chairlift Mooserberg down to the valley - everyone will find what they are looking for here.

The snow park "defRaggn" has been an insiders' tip for snowboarders and free skiers over the past several years. With its numerous obstacles, the spacious park has developed into a unique freestyle area. Should you still be full of energy after all this, the Backyard park offers the opportunity to run riot until late at night, even after the lifts have stopped operating for the day.

Furthermore, an ideal meeting point for a fun and adventurous ski day with the family is the WISBI ("How fast am I?") piste in the ski area Brunnalm. Far away from mass tourism and surrounded by sun-lit slopes, nothing stands in the way of a perfect holiday! Furthermore, the ski area has multiple Wi-Fi hotspots. The skiline system lets you track the altitude and kilometres of slope you have mastered, giving you a chance to show off back home.

Après ski St. Jakob im Defereggental

Après ski in St. Jakob is very easy-going. After a fun day on the pistes you can get together in cosy huts and let the day fade away, or you can enjoy the culinary delicacies of the region in various guest houses. Situated at an altitude of 1,818 m, the "Brugger Alm" with its cosy atmosphere, great view, and of course its delicious Tyrolean specialities, is highly recommendable. Here you can enjoy everything that the skiers heart could desire from "Kaiserschmarrn" (sugared pancake with raisins) to Tyrolean "Gröstl", "Bretteljause" (plate of cold cuts) and Viennese schnitzel. Also worth a visit is there après ski bar "Kuhstall" at the valley station, where DJs ensure a boisterous atmosphere with great music in the evenings.

For those who like to be active, the Defereggental offers various athletic and recreational activities off the piste. One of those is the approx. 2 km long nature and night tobogganing run "Alpe Stalle" which is always illuminated and easily reachable on foot. Winter hikers and cross-country skiers do not miss out either, they will experience a fascinating spectacle of nature on an approx. 10 km long hiking trail. Further leisure activities include, for example, ice skating on the three skating rinks in Defereggental, ice climbing and guided ski tours.

Snowpark: defRaggn Snowpark St. Jakob im Defereggental

For all those who love the adrenaline rush when thinking of great heights and taking risks, St. Jakob in the Defereggental will be a real highlight! The resort has been an insider's tip for snowboarders and freeskiers for a while partly due to its spectacular freestyle paradise. The "defRaggn" snow park is especially versatile and spacious and acts as an outlet for your creativity with its various obstacles, such as jumps and rails. It has its own lift, which ensures that no adrenaline junkie will loose unnecessary time. The Kids Areal also gives younger freestylers the chance to have a go at their first tricks and jumps.

Can't get enough of the wild fun in the snow- even late at night? Don't worry, a separate area has been built which is available to rookies even after the lifts have closed for the day and afterwards the party keeps going in the "Top Spot", the Basis Station at an altitude of 1,750 m. Here you can celebrate a successful day on the piste! Are you in the mood to experience the scene?
