Ski area Hochkössen

The Hochkössen ski area belongs to Kössen, which has 12 lifts and 22 km of piste waiting to be explored. The family-friendly ski area leads up to an altitude of 1,690 m and counts as one of the most snow-secure ski areas in Tyrol. Thanks to its geographic position on the northern border of the Alps, these pistes can be continuously skied on from mid-December to the beginning of April, and snow cannons provide for a safe ride into the valley. You can head out of Kössen with the modern 6-person cabin lift up towards the rustic "Bärenhütte". While beginners spend their time on the sunny, high plateaus, experts will find the black valley run a little more to their taste. Great deep snow areas, of which are secured, can be found on the lower mountain slopes and sometimes also on the valley runs.

Après ski Schwendt

You will definitely get your money's worth with après ski in Walchsee and Kössen. In the "Londoner" in Kössen or in the "Kaminstun" in Walchsee you will get everything that belongs to apres ski! You should also try out local cuisine, such as Kaiserschmarrn, typical Kössisch trout or grilled goat ribs. A further highlight in Kaiserwinkl is the ballooning week from 19/01 to 26/01/2019, where you will be amazed by some of the balloons, and can watch the professionals race!

Those who like it more sporty will find great opportunities in Walchsee. You can choose between three toboggan runs or, for the brave holiday-makers, even a tour on the snow bike. Take part in a torch-lit hike at the Ottenalm, ending with a moonlight toboggan run or explore the surrounding area with snow shoes. On the natural ice rink at Walchsee, not only can you go ice skating, but also curl.

Night skiing on the floodlit slope in Walchsee is also recommended. In Schwendt, easy ski tour destinations or snow bike courses are offered that promise action-packed hours. Other attractive offers include torchlight hikes to the Ottenalm with subsequent moonlight tobogganing, bowling, ice skating on Lake Walchsee, snowshoe hikes or relaxation and wellness in the indoor pool.

Only a few kilometres away are the cities Munich, Innsbruck or Salzburg, all of which invite you to visit. Here you will find a comprehensive selection of cultural highlights throughout the year.

Snowpark: MINI Snowpark Spitzingsee Schwendt

Unfortunately there is no funpark in the Kössen ski area. But the freestylers among you will find funparks in two other Alpen Plus ski areas. The larger one is the MINI Snowpark Spitzingsee, which is one of the top 3 parks in Germany. Every year the offer is extended here. Riders can hire helmets and protectors free of charge if required. Depending on the snow conditions, there are six to eight kickers (4-20 m tables), five rails, three boxes and jib barrels available as obstacles.

A further fun park can be found in the Sudelfeld ski area. It is slightly smaller and offers a kicker, easy- and jib line.
