Located in the heart of Carinthia and approx. 15 km away from the popular ski area Gerlitzen you can find the small muncipal of Ossiach at the southern bank of Lake Ossiach. Surrounded by an impressive mountain panorama, the resort offers skiing fun for young and old within the beautiful, snowy winter landscape of the Ossiach Tauern mountains. Additionally you can look forward to a diverse cultural offer - the monastery Ossiach is famous across the borders of Carinthia. Nowadays the oldest Benedictine monastic church in the federal state does not only house the Carinthian Academy of Music, it's also location for famous music and cultural events. When visiting Ossiach during the "Fasching" in February, the neighbouring town Villach is definitely worth a visit: here you can be close to the action when Austria's carnivalesque stronghold perform their more than 130 years old Fasching parade.Lake Ossiach
Lake Ossiach is one of the most popular holiday regions in Carinthia. It is located at 500 m altitude right between the local mountains Gerlitzen and Ossiacher Tauern.
