Ski area Mölltaler Gletscher

The lift pass "SkiHit" opens up altogether 162 fantastic km of piste in the 9 ski areas of East Tyrol to you (see ski region). These also include the 2 highest Carinthian ski mountains: the Mölltal Glacier and the Ankogel.

From Obervellach to Flattach it is only approx. 6 km. From there the longest underground cable car of the Alps, the Glacier-Express, brings you to the only Carinthian Glacier ski area at the Mölltal Glacier in 8 minutes. This area offers 17.4 km of piste and 9 lifts. The tree free "Cinemascope" pistes at the "Mölli" will elicit a special enthusiasm in carvers. Fans of high speeds choose the 7 km long, highest Carinthian FIS piste which leads all the way down to Flattach. Of course there is also a funpark for freestylers up here.

Families value the only approx. 10 km distant ski area at the Ankogel. From Mallnitz you can get to this popular panoramic mountain which offers 12.8 km of piste. On top of the wide and open summit pistes, which offer a great view of the Grossglockner and the Dolomites, pros are comfortable, while beginners can be found at the Köfele lifts in the valley. Children rely on Penguin Bobo and his kid's ski school. An especially appealing piste is the valley descent Mallnitz with a length of 7 km and an altitude difference of 1,349 m.

Après ski Obervellach

In Obervellach you can enjoy the quiet and idyllic atmosphere of the resort, and in the evenings you can not only brace yourself for the next exciting day on the pistes in the restaurants, but also taste the excellent Carinthian specialities. Those who want to recall the fun on the piste over a drink best stay in the ski area. At the Mölltal glacier in Flattach one can meet up at the popular bars Europa-bar or Hütt'n Wirt.

If you wish, you can also end the day in a sportive way. Explore the landscapes of Obervellach on a winter hike or on a coach ride along the Möll river. Or try a swift descent down the 3 km long toboggan run. Ice skaters can leave their trails on the ice rink and tennis and squash players head to the tennis centre. The pool complex Obervellach doesn't only offer a variety of pools, but also various saunas and a massage area.

Free stylers should pay special attention to the ski area at the Mölltal glacier. The fun park below the Schareck piste invites boarder pros and turns the ski area to a popular meeting point. A wave trail, steep turns, kickers and jumps provide variety and give you the opportunity to marvel at the fascinating panorama from above.
