Drautal
The Drautal, or respectively Spittal an der Drau is the largest district in Carinthia - even larger than the federal state of Vorarlberg. Spittal is characterised on the one side by the high mountains of the Hohe Tauern with their numerous 3,000 m peaks (the highest in the country), and on the other side by the plateaus of the Upper Drautal. The Millstätter Lake and the Weissensee lake are two of the four large lakes in Carinthia and are found in this district. All these factors make this area a real paradise for active travellers with many different activities to try out - be it hiking, skiing, cross-country or ice skating. There is a sport here for everyone.Travel Oberdrauburg
