Ski area Lachtal und Kreischberg

The ski area "Kreischberg und Lachtal" (868 - 2,222 m) offers diverse winter sport fun on a total of 68 km of pistes. The easy and medium difficulty pistes from the summit of the Kreischberg to the middle station are especially suited for families and beginners. Pros should not miss out on the pistes at the Rosenkranz lift or the 4 km long valley run to the Word Cup Arena. The valley run is part of the longest run of the ski area with approx. 7.5 km and leads from the Rosenkranzhöhe to the valley station. The snow park Kreischberg offers diverse challenges: various kickers, rails, boxes and tables, as well as the 120 m long half pipe of the World Cup Arena.

The Lachtal also has some marvellously wide pistes, thus it is perfectly suited for children and beginners. Here you will mainly find easy and medium difficulty pistes. It is highly recommended to check out the beautiful and diverse piste at the Dietrichalm lift - it runs through idyllic forest areas and has some flat, as well as steeper parts. Moreover, you have a nice view over the neighbouring valleys.

The ski area Kreischberg was awarded in the category "Piste Preparation". Special emphasis was put on the fact that even the black pistes are well prepared. But not only the the piste preparation is excellent, the ski area also received 5 stars in the category "Family Friendliness". For the little ones there is a children's area with a wave track, tubing run, Kreischi-Trampolin, childcare, ski kindergarten and a ski school. Additionally, several interesting adventure parcours are available with the "Yabaa Dabba Doo-Land", "Dinopark" and "KreiSchi Safari". The restaurant Kreischbergwirt, which is located right next to the children's area, offers several children's menus. The panorama restaurant "EAGLE" is a new highlight. At an altitude of 2,000 m, there is not only a fantastic view, but also a wide selection of food and drinks. Those in a hurry can opt to use the "Drive-In" for a quick stop.

From the 2021 season on, all winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to the new and ultra-modern 10-seater gondola lift "Kreischberg 10er". This replaces the 6-seater gondola lift and now takes guests faster and more comfortably to an altitude of 1,771 m. The modernisation doubles the transport capacity on the Kreischberg.

Après ski Murau

At the end of a day in the mountains, several ski huts are available for some après ski. You can party until late at night in the Space Lounge Bar in Murau - during the day it is a cosy café and at night changes into an iconic bar with a special view. Children and young minds can run wild at night tobogganing or in the public swimming pool with a giant slide, spa area and children's pool. If you are looking for relaxation, you can take a horse sled ride through the Murtal with its beautiful nature and let the evening pass by in a cosy tavern.

Snowpark: Kreischberg Murau

The professionals from QParks did a great job at the snow park Kreischberg. At an altitude of 1,900 m and located close to the Sunshine lifts, the well-styled fun park has everything a freestyler can ask for. Even the Beginner Line already has a lot to offer: rookies can practice with three kicker jumps, a wave run jump and several butter boxes. The Medium Line is composed of eleven obstacles - from rails to boxes to kickers, as well as a small half pipe from the origins of the freestyle scene at the Kreischberg, which was smartly integrated into the park. Thus you are set for some cool tricks, adrenaline kicks and above all: a lot of fun.

After a successful Snowboard World Cup in 2003 the Kreischberg was also the venue of a FIS World Cup in 2015. It was the first time a world cup for freestyle snowboarding and freestyle skiing took place at the same time.
