Ski area Grosseck-Speiereck

With the "Ski Lungau" lift pass, you have access to 150 km of piste located in the Katschberg-Aineck, Fanningberg, and Grosseck-Speiereck ski areas as well as the small lifts in St. Michael, Schönfeld, Zederhaus and Lessach. Access to the Grosseck-Speiereck ski area can be found right in Mauterndorf, which offers you a total of 50 diverse km of piste. Here, you can take the valley run from the Speiereck to St. Michael, a real highlight which experiences a 1,300 m difference in altitude along a total length of about 9 km.

The area is especially designed for families with children as well as demanding skiers. The best pistes can be found below the Speiereck, which constitute the highest point in Salzburg that can be reached with a lift - save the glacier ski areas. The artificial snow-making facilities guarantee snow security when the right tempuratures are present.

The Katschberg-Aineck ski area, with approx. 70 km of piste, provides for a wide selection of long, diverse pistes. Fanningberg is especially family-friendly, with almost all of the pistes being delightfully flat and wide (except for one steep, demanding piste near the Zirbenjet), making this area ideal for beginners and children. Additionally, there's one excellent carving slope that can be found there, and in the "FUNNY-Kinderpark" children's park, little ones are well tended-to.

Après ski Mauterndorf

Numerous typical huts and restaurants can be found directly in the Mauterndorf ski centre. Visit the "Schi Alm", for example: along with warm food, you can also round off your day of skiing comfortably during one of the regularly-occurring themed evenings or specialitiy evenings. A "Schialmtaxi" will take you comfortably to and from there. Also, in the "Panorama Alm" restaurant, you can not only enjoy traditional Austria specialities, but also the breathtaking panoramic views available there. Those who are ready to party after a day of skiing and want to let loose will find that the "Fliegenpilz" umbrella bar is the perfect meeting point.

Alternatively, you could consider going on an illuminated winter hike, ideal for a relaxing walk through the historic resort centre of Mauterndorf. You could also plan a pit stop at the Mauterndorf castle. If you're looking for a bit of speed, visit the 500 m long illuminated toboggan run, or head out onto the natural ice skating rink. Mauterndorf even provides a diverse weekly programme for variety.

Those who prefer to keep things relaxed could consider a trip to the nearby Tamsweg. There, you'll find the "BadeINSEL" with its indoor pool as well as sauna and spa landscape.

Snowpark: Snowpark St. Margarethen Mauterndorf

In the Katschberg-Aineck ski area, there is a small, yet adequate fun park, in which beginners and expert freestylers will feel right at home. There are various obstacles like rails and boxes, a corner, and even a (small) half-pipe available to try out.
