Cross-country skiers won't be short-changed in Zell am See and Maishofen! The picturesque area around Lake Zell seem made just for the Nordic discipline. Zell am See and Kaprun together offer a total of 38 km of track. Zell am See offers a diverse track at 20 km in length. Especially great here is the 10 km long circuit on the frozen Lake Zell! This is only accessible under very good ice conditions and charges a fee. The Zell high-altitude track lies at 1,300 m and is comfortably reached within 5 minutes with the CityXpress! The 2 km long track is only suitable for classic cross-country skiing and runs through the beautiful Schmittenhöhe scenery. Kaprun offers 18 km, including the 3.5 km long high-altitude / glacier track (2,900 m) on the Kitzsteinhorn. This is a definite highlight for cross-country fans! Night skiing is also possible in both Zell am See and Kaprun, both offering tracks of approx. 3 km in length. If this is still not enough, you can find further 200 km of trails in the skiing region, incl. the Saalbach and Pinzga trails.
