Cosy Latschach is a little village in the South of Carinthia which is situated only approx. 20 km from the Slovenian border at Lake Faak. The village is characterised by St. Ulrich parrish church which holds a lovely high altar, and which makes for a pretty postcard picture with Mittagskogel mountain in the background. The Alpine-Adriatic city Villay is to the West, the city of Klagenfurt with the popular lake Wörthersee to the East, and Lake Faak is right at the gates of the resort - like this, Latschach offers the peace and quiet of a rural village in untouched nature on the one hand, and is close the Mediterranean style of the big cities and to alpine leisure time activities. From Latschach, several ski areas can be reached easily. South of the city, the ranges of the mighty Karawank mountains reach up, building a natural border to Slovenia.

Lake Faak

In the south of Carinthia and close to the Slovenian border lies Lake Faak in the scenery of the majestic Mittagskogel. With a surface of 220 ha it is the fifth largest lake of Austria and always glimmers in turquoise blue due to the fine chalk particles in the water. The region around the lake between Villach and Drau is an imposing and diverse holiday location - it attracts sportsmen, nature lovers and people seeking peace and quiet in winter as well as in summer. Enticing holiday villages at the waterfront like Faak or Egg and also quiet places like Latschach or Finkenstein in the surrounding area offer great opportunities for relaxation in nature.
