Ski area Sölden
For a 2 days lift pass, the lift pass "Sölden" is valid, which gives you access to 143 km of first-class piste (incl. ski routes) at 1,350 - 3,340 m, connected by 31 modern lifts. The free-of-charge ski bus takes you from Längenfeld to the ski area, made famous by its glaciers, Rettenbach and Tiefenbach. The three 3,000+ meter peaks Tiefenbachkogl (3,309 m), Innere Schwarze Schneid (3,370 m) and Gaislachkogl (3,058 m) are used year-round by national ski teams and "normal" ski fans alike.
In the winter, the Sölden ski area is among the best areas that the Alps can offer. As Austria's only glacier ski area, three 3,000 m mountains are perfectly interconnected here with lifts. Above all, the gondola on the far side of Rettenbach speeds up the "Golden Gate to the Glacier" - the connection between Giggijoch and the glacial ski area. Local attractions are for instance the diagonal lift, which is basically a shuttle connection between the resort centre and the Innerwald lifts, as well as the modernised gondola at the Gaislachkogel. Since the 2016/17 winter season, the Giggijochbahn lift transports about 4.500 skiers per hour to the centre of the ski area in Sölden, which makes the Giggijochbahn the lift with the highest transportation rate in the world. Among other things you can use the free Internet in all 134 gondolas.
Not to be missed is the BIG3-Rallye: check out the entire ski area, including the BIG3 peaks! A truly unique experience with breathtaking views included! Those using the ski area app who have also reached all checkpoints with the ski tracker may also find their name listed in an online raking of best skiers! Furthermore, quite the experience awaits on the longest piste of the ski area, which runs over 15 km on the Rettenbach glacier. In the world cup piste on the glacier, you can ski where the professionals have skied before you.
The boarder scene is found in the snow park on Giggijoch, which, with half-pipe, boarder cross, kickers, tubes, jibs and rails leave no wish unfulfilled. Additionally, the Ötztal region is a true free ride paradise with over 70 km of off-piste variations and tons of powder snow. The descents, with up to 2,000 m difference in altitude, are a welcome thrill for every free rider and offer a great lot of fun.
For lift passes valid for 6 days or more, entry to the "James Bond Erlebniswelt - 007 ELEMENTS" is included with the lift pass.
Night skiing Längenfeld
Many ski areas in Austria are also night ski areas which give winter sports fans the opportunity to use the illuminated pistes for night skiing after sunset. In Sölden, right nearby Längenfeld, night skiing takes place from the end of December until the end of March every Wednesday. At Gaislachkogel lift there also is a night ski show: apart from night skiing, a show stage with live shows and trick skiing is on offer, and the night-time skiing fun is rounded off by concluding fireworks. During the show, night skiing is possible on approx. 4 km of illuminated pistes. The night ski piste (No. 10) goes from the Gaislach lift's middle station down to the valley.Après ski Längenfeld
If you want to turn night into day then you should not miss a trip to the parties in Sölden! If the umbrella bar is to breezy for you, then you should visit the Fire & Ice, Ötzis Tanzstadl or Katapult, where you can dance until the early morning hours.
If you want to remain sporty in the afternoons when the lift closes you can take part in a winter hiking tour, for example. On snowshoes you can hike up to a cosy Alpine hut and then continue the way on a sledge. Längenfeld and Gries further offer an ice rink and various toboggan runs. Or do you rather prefer a romantic ride on a horse-drawn sleigh?
If you are rather looking for relaxation you should not miss a visit to the "Therme Aqua Dome". This offers a large thermal hall, a spacious sauna complex and a spa, where you can really let go of your every-day stress. Enjoy the view from the relaxation rooms through the glass front of the building and indulge in the magnificent mountain backdrop.
Snowpark: AREA 47 Snowpark Sölden Längenfeld
At the Giggijoch, directly below the chair lifts Hainbachkar and Silberbrünnl, lays the freestyle pearl of the Ötztal, the "AREA 47 Snowpark Sölden". Park designer Tomek Zwolak and his crew go over the 6 ha large area daily to reshape the obstacles to meet the highest requirements. This park, located at 2,450 m altitude, leaves no wishes unfulfilled. Beginners and pros alike can test themselves on 3 different levels of difficulty. A number of kickers, tubes, rails and boxes provide enough diversity. The cherry on the freestyler cake is made up of various jibs, e.g. the jib can or the 12 m elephant box, where riders can show of their creativity at top level. To wind down and relax there is a chill area with the respective sound system.
Since winter 17/18 there is a 650 m long Funslope in Sölden in addition to the snowpark. It doesn't matter whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced skier, the funslope is mainly there to have fun while you ride over waves and small table football, while enjoying the panoramic view.
