Ski area Nassfeld - Pressegger See
The ski bus takes you directly to the valley station of the Millennium Express at Nassfeld. From here you have free access to 110 km of piste and 30 lifts, up to 2,002 m altitude. The Millennium Express only needs a few minutes to take you up to the ski terrain on the Madritsche (1,919 m), the key point within the whole area. Here, you will find beginner pistes and racing tracks, basically everything a winter sports fan may wish for.
Beginners are best catered for at the practice area at Sonnleitn, or round the Sonnenalpe and Tressdorfer Alm. There is also a mini club for the little ones to take part in, "Bobo's Miniclub". More experienced riders can test themselves in the speed track at the Troghöhe, or on the mogul piste at Rastl. The longest pistes, at the same time, is the only valley run, and takes you over 7.6 km right into the valley. This is where freestylers will find a snow park at the Watschiger Alm lift.
Furthermore, the Nassfeld ski resort has already invested heavily in energy-efficient technology in recent years. The cable cars and lifts, as well as the up to 460 snowmaking systems with state-of-the-art technology, are powered by electricity from 100% renewable energy sources. In addition, innovative technologies, such as GPS snow depth measurement, enable the most energy-efficient preparation of the pistes and intelligent snow management.
A chair lift, two T-bar lifts and a practice lift are also available directly in Kötschach-Mauthen. From the parking lot you can access the secure children's area, where you will find the little ones having fun on wave rides and practice runs. A detour is worth it - whether on foot or on skis.

If you prefer to remain sporty in the later afternoon, there is lots to explore in Kötschach-Mauthen. Enjoy nature on a horse-drawn sleigh ride or just take a ride on the horse itself. Maybe you feel more like going on snowshoe hike or taking part in a ski tour. A special highlight of the region is a lama trekking tour, where you can get to know the animals.
The Weissensee Lake is located nearby and is a paradise for ice sports fans. The 6.5 km² large lake is largest, most reliably frozen natural ice rink in Europe. Besides ice skaters, speed skaters and ice hockey players, you will also find here curling enthusiasts, winter hikers and horse sleighs. In Mauthen itself, the ÖAV activity park also offers an ice rink, but also a 28 m high iced water fall which can be climbed. This is also known as the "Alpiner Matherpfahl" (Alpine totem). A 2 km long, natural toboggan run is every tobogganer's hearts desire. It is located at the Gasthof Gailberghöhe and is even illuminated at night.
Snowpark: Snowpark Nassfeld Kötschach-Mauthen
The Nassfeld Snowpark is located on the Gartnerkofel and can be reached directly via the Watschiger-Alm lift no. 3 or pistes 2 and 2a. Variety is provided here by a beginner line, where beginners can try out their first tricks on curved banks and bumps, a rail line with various boxes and flat rails and a kicker line with several different kickers. Every Sunday, the ‘ShredSchool’ offers a free snowboard and freeski workshop for beginners.
In addition to the snow park, there is also ‘The Snake’, a fun slope with waves, banked turns and jibs. There is also a speed course with timekeeping and a ski movie course where you can have your descent recorded. There is also the Nassfeld Challenge. You have to register with your ski pass number on the Skyline website and sign up for the Nassfeld Challenge.
