Ski area Hochkössen

The ski area of Hochkössen is the local mountain of Kössen, where you can expect to find 12 lifts and 22 km of piste. The family-friendly ski area has up to an approx. 1,690 m altitude, and due to its geographical location on the northern brim of the Alps, the region is known as one of the most snow-reliable ski areas in Tyrol and boasts great conditions from mid December until the beginning of April. Additional snow canons ensure the valley run is open as long as possible. From Kössen you take the modern 6-person gondola up to the "Bärenhütte". Whilst beginners can enjoy the sunny high plateau, more experienced skiers can dare a go on the "black" valley descent. Great deep powder snow areas, all secured, are to be found at the Unterbergalm and partly also along the valley run.

Après ski Kössen

You will definitely get your money's worth with après ski in Walchsee and Kössen. You can get into partying mode right in the ski area and in Kössen the après ski fun continues in "Sigi's Sportklause", directly at the valley station. In the resort, "The Londoner" and the "Enjoy" offer everything that belongs to après ski - for a decent price!

You should also try out local cuisine, such as Kaiserschmarrn, typical Kössisch trout or grilled goat ribs. A further highlight in Kaiserwinkel in 2020 is the 19th International Kaiserwinkl Alpine Ballooning festival. From 25/01 - 01/02/2020, in addition to races for real ballooning professionals, you can marvel at the glowing balloons over a glass of mulled wine in the evening. If you've been dreaming of riding in a hot-air balloon for a long time, you'll have good chances here after making an appointment beforehand.

Also highly recommended is night skiing on the floodlit piste in Walchsee. Easy ski touring destinations or even snow biking courses are offered in Schwendt, which promise hours packed full of action. Other attractive offers are torch lit hikes on the Ottenalm with subsequent moon light tobogganing, bowling, ice skating on the Walchsee, snow shoe hiking, or relaxing and enjoying spa treatments in the indoor pool.

Only a few kilometres away are the cities Munich, Innsbruck or Salzburg, all of which invite you to visit. Here you will find a comprehensive selection of cultural highlights throughout the year.

Snowpark: MINI Snowpark Spitzingsee Kössen

Unfortunately, in the local ski area of Kössen there is no fun park, but freestylers can find fun parks in other two Alpen Plus ski areas. The largest is MINI Snowpark Spitzingsee, one of the top three snow parks in Germany. Every year the offer here gets larger and larger. The riders can rent for free helmets and protectors. As obstacles there are, depending on the snow conditions, 6 to 8 kickers (4-20 m tables), five rails, three boxes, as well as Jib-tons.

Another fun park can be found in Sudelfeld. It's smaller, but has a kicker, easy line and jib line
