Ski holidays Göstling an der Ybbs – The Blacksmith of World Cup Racers
Göstling an der Ybbs
Göstling an der Ybbs is located in the middle of the Göstling Alps with the peaks of the Hochkars (1,808 m) and the Dürrenstein (1,878 m). The market town is considered one of the most traditional holiday resorts in Lower Austria and features one of the largest and most snow-sure ski areas in the foothills of the Alps on its local mountain, the Hochkar. In addition, the Ötscher (1,893 m) with the Lackenhof Ötscher ski area is not far from the village. Both ski areas, each with 19 kilometres of pistes, can be skied with only one lift pass. Families in particular and those who are seeking peace and quiet appreciate the relaxed village idyll. Nevertheless, Göstling's also offers a wide range of leisure activities. Being active - from winter hikes and tobogganing to ice skating - and relaxing - for example in the Ybbstal "Solebad" (saltwater bath) with sauna world - are located very close together in this resort.Mostviertel
The Mostviertel in the West of Lower Austria can be seen as a connoisseur's dream. The agricultural region owes its name to the high cultural value of the "must". Numerous cider taverns in the region invite you to enjoy homemade snacks, pastries, schnapps and various types of cider. The Mostviertel is also characterised by the contrast between the mild and fertile land in the North and the wild and romantic alpine mountains in the South with snow-sure skiing areas. The landmark of this region is the 1,893 m high Ötscher. In addition, the Mostviertel is a very water-rich area: five large rivers rise in the mountains and make their way to the Danube.Travel Göstling an der Ybbs
