Ski area Dachstein West
With the "Dachstein West" regional lift pass, you can enjoy a total of 131 kilometres of pistes in the Dachstein West ski area with Gosau, Russbach and Annaberg as well as the Freesports Arena Dachstein Krippenstein and the other areas of Feuerkogel, Karkogel, St. Martin, Lungötz and Dürrnberg. The 57 lifts will transport you to your desired piste without any problems. The small but beautiful Karkogel ski area in Abtenau with the David Twin and Alexandra Meissnitzer World Cup runs is right on your doorstep. The Postalm ski area, part of which still belongs to the village of Abtenau, can also be reached in just a few minutes.
Russbach, approx. 11 km from Abtenau, offers you the ideal access to the interconnected Dachstein-West region. The regional lift pass allows you to enjoy wonderful descents in various ski areas, which are connected by free ski buses. Beginners and leisure skiers in particular, as well as advanced skiers, will find a variety of pistes here. The fun slopes await with a slalom course including timekeeping, snowcross facilities, wave run and mogul slopes. If that's not enough fun for you, you're sure to get your money's worth with night skiing on the Ötscher lift.

Night skiing Golling
Skiing until night-time is also part of the deal in the Dachstein West ski area. On the valley side of Gosau, and thus easily reachable from Golling, there is a small night ski area. Once a week you can still have fun on skis after the official opening hours. Nearby Ötscherlift, a section of approx. 1 km is illuminated for night skiing every Friday. Like this, the bottom part of the valley run is turned into a night ski piste. The red slope is an appropriate challenge even for experienced skiers. The beginner's piste at Brumsiland nearby the Hornspitzbahn lift's valley station also benefits from the floodlights and is also available for night skiing. The extended operation times are valid for both pistes from 18:30 - 20:30. The Hornspitz umbrella bar is a good place to end your day after the night skiing fun.Après ski Golling
After a great day on the piste in Golling, you have the possibility to take part in various activities or just relax. There are cosy restaurants, guest houses, and cafés, where you can indulge in traditional specialities or international cuisine. Furthermore, snow lovers can also enjoy a ride on the nature tobogganing run or go on either a hike or snow shoe hike through the wonderful winter landscape. The more romantic variety is a horse drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered Bluntau valley.
Those interested in history, can learn more about traditional trades - e.g. hand-weaving or Austria's only private paper factory. A visit to close-by Salzburg, the city of Mozart, is definitely worth while, as well as a trip to the "Salzwelten Hallein", where the whole family can gather interesting impressions.
