Ski area Zillertal Arena

After a successful day on the sunny slopes, enjoy some hearty après-ski - that's part of the daily programme in the Zillertal Arena! Numerous huts and bars in Gerlos, such as "Little London", "Haberl's Skibar" and the "Garage", offer après-ski until late into the night. In the Zell ski area, the atmosphere starts early, e.g. at the "Rosenalm" or "Kreuzwiesenalm". At the valley station, head to the "Saustad'l", the "Jogg'l Kessl", the "Krocha Alm" or the "Tuxer Pfiff-Bar". The "Krimmler Kuhstall" is also a great place to party. The "Schatzi Alm Bar" and the "Castello Schirmbar" in Königsleiten offer quieter après-ski options.

The longest toboggan run in the Zillertal is a sporty option. After the comfortable ascent with the Gerlossteinbahn cable car, the tobogganing fun starts at an altitude of 1,650 metres. The run is 7 kilometres long and floodlit until 1:00 - so you can enjoy a cosy stop at one of the rustic inns along the way. Königsleiten's toboggan run also offers a speedy descent for young and old after a day on the piste. The somewhat different snow fun in the Gerlosstein ski area is called "snowtubing". On specially prepared tracks, all winter fans can try out this tyre fun free of charge and as often as they like.

If you are looking for a little more sporting adventure, you can try your hand at ice climbing at the Untersulzbach Falls. The national park area is also known worldwide as a top address for ski tourers and freeriders. An excursion to the frozen Krimml waterfalls, whether alone or on a guided torch-lit hike, or a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow-covered winter landscape will make the hearts of romantics beat faster.

Alternatively, we recommend a hike up the Gerlosstein adventure mountain. On the Gerlosstein alpine promenade, you can learn lots of interesting facts about Zillertal history and culture at lovingly designed stations, even in winter. The starting point of the approx. 1-hour hike is the mountain station of the Gerlosstein cable car at 1,700 metres above sea level. The destination is the Zillertaler Almtribüne with a fantastic view of the Zillertal mountains. You can also experience action and fun on the "Arena Coaster", the first Alpine rollercoaster in the Zillertal! Sports enthusiasts can also let off steam on the artificial ice rink, in the indoor tennis centre or on the bowling alley. An unforgettable experience for every holidaymaker is a ride on a horse-drawn sleigh through the snow-covered winter landscape or a guided snowshoe hike with intensive enjoyment of nature.
