Ski area Gastein

The "Ski amadé" lift pass gives you access to a total of 760 km of pistes and 270 lifts (see ski region)! The ski region Gastein is part of the Ski amadé and, with its 197 km of piste (including 21 km of ski routes) and 43 lifts, is one of the largest and most beautiful ski areas in the Salzburger Land. Thanks to the impressive altitude (up to 2,686 m) and numerous modern snow-making systems, excellent snow conditions are usually a given until spring.

The Gastein Valley awaits you with four ski areas: the interconnected ski areas Dorfgastein-Großarltal and Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel, the Graukogel as well as Sportgastein. Their varied, perfectly interconnected selection of piste will make winter sports fans' hearts beat faster. Beginners can take their first winter sports steps on various broad pistes above Dorfgastein and on the other side of Fulseck mountain in the Großarltal. The mountain station at Fulseck mountain also offers a wonderful view of the Großglockner and Dachstein. Only reachable from the valley, but definitely worth a try are the demanding natural snow slopes at the Graukogel. Experienced skiers will also enjoy Sportgastein, one of the highest located ski area in the whole of ski amadé. Here you will find ski routes, deep powder snow slopes and mogul piste - the perfect place for cracks. The interconnection between Stubnerkogel to Schlossalm is the largest interconnected ski area in the Gastein Valley. Thanks to its altitude of 2,300 m it is also very snow sure. Freestyle fans will find nice snowparks at Stubnerkogel and Kreuzkogel in which you can show off your skills.

The large and versatile ski area is perfectly suited for families and children. Magic carpet lift, playing ground, ski schools and beginners' area offer optimal conditions for children making their first turns. More experienced skier families also have plenty of possibilities for good skiing along the ski area's wide and sunny slopes.

Furthermore, Wi-Fi hotspots are available in the ski area so that you can stay connected with your friends at home and load up your first pictures.

Après ski Bad Gastein

From the pistes "to the piste" - that could be the motto in Bad Gastein! Even outside of the classic winter sports, there are numerous possibilities on offer here. Already at the pistes, several restaurants invite you to linger. There is also a lot of hustle and bustle in the town, where party-loving people wander through the various bars and discos until deep into the night.

For example, you can dance in the rocking "Silver Bullet" with live music. The numerous après-ski bars and pubs, such as "Haeggbloms Bar" and "Lederhosenbar", are also the place to be.

The two large thermal baths, the Alpentherme and the Felsentherme, as well as the spa centre, promise relaxation. During the day, numerous activities such as snowshoe hikes, ice skating, ice climbing and tobogganing entice you.

Those interested in history can visit Klammstein Castle at the entrance to the valley, which offers an exhibition on castle development. Families should not miss out on a visit to the fortress either: Exciting ghost tours are offered here for little spooky fans.

Snowpark: Snowpark Gastein Bad Gastein

Located in the ski area Gastein is the "Snowpark Gastein", which is shaped by Q-Parks, just like many other top parks in the Alps. From Bad Gastein you can reach the park via the Stubnerkogel lift and from Bad Hofgastein you can take the Angertal lift. On an altitude of approx. 1,900 m the snow park offers 3 different areas with countless obstacles.

In the spacious beginner area there are boxes, butter boxes, and kickers. In the medium area advanced riders can show their skills on boxes, kickers (up to 10 m), rails, tubes, as well as a jib zone with pyramid and wall ride spine. The advanced area for pros comprises a challenging set up with an 8 m picnicker jib, 12 m kicker, and a 7 m down/flat/down box, as well as many other obstacles.

Those who would just like to watch will have a great view of the area from the "Stubneralm" at the lower end of the park. Further freestyle adventures can be found in the "Absolut Park" and "The Stash" at the Shuttleberg in Flachauwinkl, where you have access to a super-pipe, jib park, or natural obstacles.
