Ski area Jöchelspitze

The Jöchelspitze ski area above Bach in the Lechtal valley offers two idyllic pistes that are particularly suitable for families and beginners. From the valley station, take the 8-seater Jöchelspitzbahn gondola lift up to an altitude of 1,768 metres. Two wide and well-groomed slopes begin there, the lower part of which leads through the forest and ends directly at the cable car. The Jöchelspitze is a red piste for experts, while the blue Jöchelspitze family run offers relaxed skiing fun for young and old. Local delicacies await hungry skiers at the Sonnalm, where they can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Lechtal Alps from the terrace.

On the Gföllberg, just a few kilometres from Bach, beginners can make their first metres on skis on the T-bar lift and explore the Gföllberg piste (red, 1 km) or the Gföllberg family run (blue, 1.5 km). The local ski school also provides professional supervision and offers courses for beginners and advanced skiers in the Jöchelspitze ski area.

If the 5 kilometres of pistes in Bach are not enough for you, you can explore a further 360 kilometres of pistes at an altitude of 600 to 2,060 m with the "3 Valleys Pass"! This includes 30 other ski resorts such as Balderschwang, Damüls-Mellau and Reuthe in the Bregenzerwald and the Großes Walsertal. They are all characterised by manageable and family-friendly pistes in the German-Austrian border region, but sporty skiers will also get their money's worth.

Night skiing Bach im Lechtal

Small but nice. This is probably the best way to summarise the Stoamandllift in Stanzach. Because 24 kilometres from Bach in Lechtal, all fans of night skiing will get their money's worth. In winter, the T-bar lift of the Stanzach family ski lifts is open from 19:00 to 21:00. During this time, the 600 metre long downhill run is floodlit. And should the winter weather not play along, a snowmaking system provides the necessary snow cover on the piste.

Après ski Bach im Lechtal

Bach im Lechtal is the perfect place for a relaxed après-ski experience close to nature. The cosy atmosphere of the village matches this. There is none of the usual hustle and bustle here, but plenty of activities to round off the day in a cosy atmosphere. For example, in the cosy huts and Alpine pastures around Bach and in the Jöchelspitze ski area, where winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy regional delicacies, hot drinks and Alpine hospitality after a long day of skiing. "Traditional après-ski" with good music and cool drinks is available in the Lechtal Hexenkessel umbrella bar at the valley station.

And for all those who prefer the outdoors to partying, there are great winter hikes throughout the Lechtal, for example to the impressive suspension bridge in Holzgau or to the nearby waterfalls, which look particularly spectacular in the snow-covered landscape. Other outdoor activities for families and groups include tobogganing, for example on the 5.8 km long Bernhardseck toboggan run in Elbigenalp, ice skating in the Holzgau ice paradise or curling in Elmen. Horse-drawn sleigh rides through the Lechtal are also particularly romantic, where you can enjoy the idyllic winter landscape as a couple.

Snowpark: Burton Snowpark Damüls Bach im Lechtal

The Jöchelspitze ski area in Bach does not have its own snow park. However, freestyle enthusiasts looking for one can head to the Damüls-Mellau ski area, 53 kilometres away. There, the "3 Täler Pass" and the "Burton Snowpark Damüls" are available to them. The entire area is constantly supervised by an experienced crew and impresses with its varied obstacles and sunny location. Ski freestyle fans can show off their tricks in the snow park on rails, boxes, kickers and in a quarter pipe or enjoy music and a relaxed atmosphere in a dedicated chill-out area. The main park is complemented by the "Small Park" at the Uga mountain station, where a 3-person kicker line, a 3-person jib tube line as well as banks and waves are waiting to be ridden on skis and snowboards.
