Ski area Almenwelt Lofer
Right in the heart of the Salzburger Saalachtal lies Unken, with it's family-friendly ski area "Unken-Heutal". The 11 km of easy to intermediate pistes between 970 and up to almost 1,600 m altitude are accessible via 4 lift systems. Thanks to the modern snow-making systems you can enjoy great snow conditions throughout the while season. The pistes are also well suited for beginners and the smallest ski enthusiasts. The Unken ski school does not only offer snowboard-, freestyle, ski and children's ski lessons, but also organises snow shoe hikes, making the family friendly ski area both attractive and diverse.
Those looking for a challenge can venture up to the Hochwena Alpin piste in neighbouring Lofer: the black run extends along the steep North flank of the Grubhörndl. The 3 km-long descent from the Sattelkurvenlift station with 600 m elevation change is a pure delight for skiers. Freestylers looking for a bit more of an adventure should go to the neighbouring Lofer ski area. Here you will find the "Snowpark L.A" with many rails, kickers & more.
For those willing to have even more km of piste, the "3 Länder Freizeit-Arena" lift pass is exactly what they need. With 171 km of piste and 61 lifts in the ski areas Almenwelt Lofer, St. Johann in Tirol/Oberndorf, Erpfendorf, Pillersee/Buchensteinwand, Kirchdorf, Steinplatte Waidring, Winklmoosalm - Reit im Winkl as well as the Heutal lifts Unken, everybody has a taste of boundless skiing!

Snowpark: Snowpark L.A. Unken
The Almenwelt Lofer and its deserted pistes, which offer you maximum skiing fun and perfect piste conditions, also have a lot to offer when it comes to freestyling. No matter whether you are a freeskier or snowboarder, the regional ski schools are perfectly adapted to the needs of the "young wild".
The "Snowpark L.A." at the Family Express comprises a beginner, as well as a medium line and has 18 different obstacles which incite all adrenaline junkies - beginner or pro - to try some jumps. Various boxes, such as a 4 m butter flat box, a 4 m butter rainbow box, a 3 m rainbow box, as well as a 3 m up down box, two mogul pistes and different jumps varying in height from 2 to 4 m are great for beginners and offer them the opportunity of getting used to the feel and practice some moves.
For the advanced freestylers and pros of the scene, especially the 7 m flat down box, the 6 m rainbow box, the 6 m flat box, and the 6 to 8 m jumps will be interesting. You would like to fly high? Then this is the prefect location for you!
